Developer Joseph Sitt has donated a 50,000-square-foot Coney Island lot to Mercury Opera, a Canadian company, for five days of performances in early September. The company will be performing a version of Pagliacci, an opera about clowns, set during Coney's Mermaid Parade. Will the sounds of Shoot the Freak still be audible over the arias?
