We thought the recession was a pretty solid explanation for why Soho Mews, the Charles Gwathmey-designed luxury condo complex, hasn't sold out despite some flexibility on pricing. Not so, says blogger Rob Millis, in an opening salvo from crowd-sourced local news site Nearsay (which officially launches next week). The real problem is the illegal vendors who've been driven off Canal Street and now park their bootleg handbag sales stands outside Soho Mews instead. So next time you buy a fake Prada bag, remember who you're hurting: this guy. What, the project hasn't given him enough gray hairs already?
