Red Hook's Zero Energy Building Keeps the Renderings Coming

New, 3 comments

The first images of planned Garrison Architects project Redhook Green came to our attention late last year, in their very early stages. The building, inspired by Red Hook's proud shipping container tradition, claims to be New York's first "zero energy building," meaning that it gets all its energy from renewable sources, as one of the architects recently explained to CNN. Easier said than done! The architects tell us the project is a little behind schedule, with a new winter 2011 completion date. In the meantime, there are new renderings of the building, which will include an apartment, garage with electric car charger, and offices. Above, the front view.
