NYT architecture critic Nicolai Ouroussoff talks up the new buildings he's most looking forward to, including everyone's favorite fire-ravaged Rem Koolhaas mindfuck, Beijing's CCTV tower. He's been reading his Little Red Book: "The building, which will house television studios, has been criticized in the West as a monument to China’s propaganda machinery. But it has already become one of the most potent symbols of a rising China, one whose message is more ambiguous, and nuanced, than it at first may seem. It may be the most important building of our young century." [NYT; previously]
