Some major architectural craziness is coming soon to the south side of Union Square, but there's plenty of action to be seen on the north end as well. Broker-blogger Andrew Fine took a walk over there today and found that the truffle patrol has already passed through. Not only that, but the new pedestrian plaza on the reclaimed section of 17th Street is already almost complete. Tables and chairs, y'all! Meanwhile a not-insignificant part of the park's renovation is finished: the new bathrooms. They look pretty snazzy, but then again, they'll never be as clean as they are today.
