Does being a famous athlete or living where a famous athlete lived bump up the price of an apartment resale? Not really! The Times picks out the example of former New York Rangers player Mark Messier, who sold his UWS duplex for $3.04 million after listing it for $3.95 million. Former mets first baseman Keith Hernandez listed his place for $2.495M and sold it for $2.1M. The guy who bought Joe DiMaggio's old place had an easy time decorating, though. [NYT]
