Tribeca's Troubled 34 Leonard Trades Hands, Gives Us Hope

New, 7 comments

No need to drown your sorrows just yet, 34 Leonard Street. You might have a future after all! Last we heard from the troubled 16-unit co-op conversion, it had been completed but failed to find buyers. Next stop: foreclosure auction. It appears that a foreclosure sale may have taken place, because a June deed records a $34,014,920 sale at the stalled condo. Now that buyer has passed the 34 Leonard hot potato on to Queenwood 34 LLC for $40.8 million. Does all this mean the building is getting back on track? We have absolutely no idea. But the 'hood could certainly use some good news.

UPDATE: The building is officially going nondo! The website now mentions an on-site leasing office, and we hear leasing will kick off with a party this week.
