Kids: They're not just for locking in a closet while you go shopping for pretty new apartments anymore! Such is the gist of the NYT's Appraisal column this week, which casts a somewhat cautious eye on letting the rug rats tag along on open house visits. Could such behavior, say, damage them forever? Maybe! A parenting counselor tells the paper that involving young children in the hunt "could create needless anxieties for them, because they do not grasp the concept of moving." Well, they've got to learn that the doorman isn't daddy someday, right? [NYT]
