A Bronx judge has ordered a Florida-based firm overseeing 10 foreclosed buildings to pay $2.5 million within 30 days to cover emergency repairs and maintenance on the 550 units. The move is being called "unprecedented," but what's really unprecedented is the list of code violations, which total 3,261 boo-boos. The properties were bought at the height of the boom with the typical unrealistic rent-increasing dreams that doomed Stuy Town and other deals. A City Council report estimates it'll take $26.6 million to completely fix the buildings. [Crain's]
