With a Li'l Trump on the way, the young, beautiful and rich real estate power couple that is J-Vanka?Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump?listed their Astor Place condo and headed for a penthouse in Dad's Trump Park Avenue. Now comes the business of finding a buyer, and surely Kushner, owner of the New York Observer, has a powerful marketing machine at his disposal. But it's the Wall Street Journal that got J-Vanka to go on the record about the duplex at 21 Astor Place, which Kushner bought for $3.225 million in 2009, and now wants $4.1 million for. How did Kushner get a Trump to move downtown? As the old saying goes, the way to a woman's heart is through her wardrobe.
The Journal's slideshow of listing photos includes quotes and input from the Kushner-Trumps on the 2BR/2.5BA condo. Sneaky Kushner turned the upstairs study into a closet to convince Ivanka to ditch uptown and shack up in his bachelor pad, and it worked, at least for a while. As for that big price increase from 2009, the couple did invest in some upgrades. They renovated the kitchen, bathrooms and some parts of the master bedroom, and the decor, under the guidance of The Donald's daughter, became "more masculine." Want to see just how butch it is in there? Sorry, open houses are by registration only, which should keep the riffraff out. But we still have the Sotheby's photos. So, on the masculine scale, is the place Jason Statham or RuPaul?
