Carroll Gardens Hell Building Finally Losing Its Tumor?

New, 1 comment

We knew things were calming down at 333 Carroll Street, more popularly known as the Carroll Gardens Hell Building, when the controversial condo conversion/add-on became the site of a rather pathetic snowboarding course. Still, it looked like the zoning-busting steel tumor atop the project might remain there for all time, having already survived the rare Scarano-to-Hot-Karl architect switch and with no Buildings Department deadline for developer Isaac Fischman to remove it. But our pessimism may have been misplaced! Blog Pardon Me for Asking notices that the building has had a few more permits filed, including one for the removal of the 40-foot structure up top. It doesn't look like the steel's come down yet, but hope springs eternal. Do hell building tumors go to heaven?
