Hermes Getting Madison Avenue Makeover; Photog Gets Filmed

And now, the latest from Racked NY, covering shopping and retail from the sidewalks up.

1) UES: The Madison Avenue and 62nd Street Hermes flagship is having some work done, which means the first floor is closed and all of its merchandise?scarves, ties, perfume, etc.?has taken a trip to a temporary store up the block. At which there was a line yesterday in the 17 degree weather. That better be one warm scarf.

2) NYC: Coming soon: a film about 80-year-old fashion photographer Bill Cunningham, who spends his days shooting the big figures of fashion and his nights sleeping in a tiny filing cabinet-stuffed studio. Check out the trailer.

3) Long Island: A Long Island businessman hired the Sex and the City set designers to create a replica of Carrie Bradshaw's closet for his wife. The price tag: $175,000. But hey, that includes specially-sized sunglass and hair dryer compartments.
