The taxpayer-funded demolition of the Financial District's Deutsche Bank building ended up costing $266 million, more than double the original estimate, and the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation has a plan to get some of that money back. It's lawsuit time! The LMDC will file a $100 million claim against Bovis Lend Lease, the construction manager, for various missteps. If successful, the public's tab would be reduced to $57 million because of other insurance and lawsuit monies that have been recovered. [NYT]
