While one Gramercy Park South oldie falls into disrepair, another is getting fixed up, big time. The Salvation Army recently sold its Parkside Evangeline building?basically a dorm for, as Beyonce would say, all the single ladies?to 15 Central Park West developers the Zeckendorf Brothers for $60 million. The Zeckendorfs brought along 15 CPW architect Robert A.M. Stern to consult on the building's conversion into a handful of uber-posh condos, and now that conversion is underway, as evidenced by the newly installed sidewalk shed, plywood and hoist. The next batch of eligible young women to enter this building will probably be headed for some hedge-funder's cocktail party.
