The city stopped all plans to redevelop the former Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital?now a homeless shelter?last spring, but Kips Bay residents are eager for them to start up again. Sort of. The building's neighbors were never big fans of the city's ideas for the site, so they're hoping to come up with their own, for whenever the city wants to get back on track. The community board wants to see a building restoration, extended-stay housing for hospital patients and families, and maybe senior housing. So nothing quite as wacky as the city's boutique hotel concept. [DNAinfo]
