A couple of local schools have jumped into the Cornell-Stanford face-off over a possible engineering school on Roosevelt Island, in DoBro, or in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and Stanford already has a strategy to fight off the competition: join 'em. Stanford has announced a joint-degree program with engineering campus competitor City College, part of an effort to prove how well a Stanford NYC campus could work. Under the joint-degree program, City College students could enroll in Stanford classes as early as next fall. Meanwhile, other schools have until the end of the month to submit their NYC campus proposals. [City Room]
