Tribeca four-unit newbie 55 Warren is a quiet one. We barely even knew it was coming, and the listings have been subtle about showing themselves. Happily, we got wind of a party being held last night in the building's $14 million penthouse, designed by Leopoldo Rosati. He went for a modern, minimalist, Mediterranean feel in the 4BR, 5,924-square-foot space?not that we'd exactly call those north and south terraces minimalist.
Nor could we apply the word to the home's more high-tech amenities. One reason for last night's open house shindig was to showcase the work of Legrand and Vantage Controls, two of the companies behind the home's lighting and sound systems. Those systems can be controlled by panels in every room, and remotely by iPad and iPhone. What a buyer could make the penthouse do with an iDevice: there's an advanced LED projection system that can generate up to 80 colors for a light show displayed on the spa terrace, the building facade, and the windowless tower at 33 Thomas Street. Fun for the whole non-migraine-prone family!
