The Olnick Organization, owner of Harlem's rent-stabilized politico haven Lenox Terrace, is trying to ramp up tenant support for an expansion plan. The plan calls for adding six new glassy towers to the complex, plus retail space and landscaped parks. Tenants were anxious about lost views, overcrowding, and possible rent increases, so Olnick has scaled back at least one of the new buildings to be only four stories tall. Of course, the others are reportedly still in the 26-to-29 story range compared to current towers of 16 stories, so, uh, good try? Olnick's now trying to woo current tenants with letters. [Crain's]
