We've already heard lots about 305 West 16th Street's Chelsea Death Star and its rooftop daisy, but this weekend's Times has a few more deets on the building's process of switching from rental to condop. Even though the rumored proposal by across-the-street neighbor Google to put a basketball court and doctor's offices for employees in 305W16 never came to be, 36 of 53 units had sold as of earlier this month. One thing that helps: the building is covering 80 percent of the ground-rent-driven maintenance costs. [NYT; previously]
