Midtown's Former Forward Building Gone; Tempo Passes 50%

New, 1 comment

MIDTOWN EAST?One of the former homes of the Jewish Daily Forward, 45 East 33rd Street, was about to get a new life as a condo last year, until owner BCN Developer abruptly flipped the property for $20 million. The not-so-new owner is NYC Hotel 33 LLC, which filed permits earlier this year for the construction of a new hotel building on the site. The permit was approved and, a tipster points out, the demolition of the old building appears to be complete. Farewell, old friend. [CurbedWire Inbox]

GRAMERCY?Its days of $500,000 holograms in the sales office might have been short-lived (and followed by a developer feud), but 300 East 23rd Street's Tempo has managed to make a go of it regardless. Reps tell us the building is officially more than 50 percent sold. StreetEasy shows 16 active listings asking between $875,000 and $2.995 million. [CurbedWire Inbox]
