So are New Yorkers, as the Times would suggest, putting themselves in danger by the frantic pace of waterfront development, with no end in sight? Though hurricane Irene was a dud, it doesn't take away from the fact that water levels are rising. But really, we doubt it's going to change anyone's mind on waterfront development, since we're all deep in the obsession rabbit hole. Perhaps Corcoran's Pam Liebman said it best, “It would take more than a few inches of water to keep New Yorkers from buying a property they love."[NYT]
