Whatta Bargain!

Quasi-luxury really never works out, at least when the fancy new building in question is on the site of an old chicken slaughterhouse jammed against the Williamsburg Bridge. Such is the case with River Ridge, aka 78 Ridge Street, the condo-turned-rental building with questionably orange kitchen decor: twenty of the units are now available in a bundle costing $15.5 million. The apartments are also available individually at an average $850 per square foot, but owners are praying someone will relieve them of this godawful headache and take the lot for, say, short-term corporate housing.
