Community Board 2 rejected Rudin Management's plan to turn the former St. Vincent's site into emergency medical facilities, luxury homes, and retail by a vote of 40-1. The board raised concerns about the increase in neighborhood density that would come with the proposed 450 residential units and about the retail space that Rudin planned to put on streets that has previously been exclusively residential. Some community members spoke in favor of the proposal, saying that it would create jobs. CB2's rule is advisory, but we're glad they symbolically got their rage out. [DNAinfo]
