So, it looks like Park51 developer Sharif-el-Gamal is in trouble for reasons not having to do with the controversial downtown project. After allegedly failing to maintain a small 14 unit building he owns at 1835 Amsterdam Avenue, a renter is taking him to court. She alleges that "her bathroom ceiling collapsed, blocking the tub, toilet and sink, and that dust and vermin." There are 150 complaints in the building, and a whopping 366 housing code violations.
