Coney Island Concretewalk

Suddenly things seem to be turning around for the Coney Island boardwalk. Some of the seven almost-ousted businesses are negotiating new leases (with a few conditions), and now the boardwalk itself might be spared from becoming a concretewalk. The Public Design Commission has ordered another review of the project after opponents complained the concrete would ruin the walkway's historic feel. Supporters of the proposal still say the concrete would be cheaper and easier to drive on. [BK Daily]
