Worlds within the Curbediverse are colliding this morning as the Post drops the news that baron of Bond Street Adam Gordon?the developer behind 54 Bond and non-Bond projects like 60 Jane Street and 26 West 76th Street?has purchased 552 West 24th Street. A quick trip into the archives reminds us that this is the former site of the Sky Galouse, a DeArch Architects glassfest. The site ran into some trouble in the form of a no-bid foreclosure auction in August. But Gordon?or rather, Art Residences, a venture he partially finances?rode to the rescue, paying $9.7 million for the spot.
The 50'-by-100' lot will, according to the Post, get luxury apartments along the lines of 54 Bond. If there's a unit anything like 54 Bond's penthouse, we're sold.
