The New York Public Library is good for more than a jaunt to the map room or a snapshot with two giant lions: its archive even includes vintage photos of New York apartments, specifically photographer Dinanda Nooney's series of Brooklyn abodes in the 1970s. Gothamist has rounded up 21 of the 2000-odd black-and-white photos Nooney took, "from Bushwick to Bed-Stuy to Park Slope to Boerum Hill."[Gothamist]
