The Financial Times takes a look at the world's most efficiently-designed small apartments, and includes one of our faves, the East Village's best studio apartment. The 500-square-foot studio, designed by Jordan Parnass Digital Architecture, is owned by the head of retail development at American Apparel and incorporates some nifty space-saving tricks: "each wooden step leading up to the sleeping platform doubles as a drawer and the sleeping platform itself fits into a roof cavity that the architects enlarged."
