The MTA unveiled new plans last night for subway station renovations at East 68th Street and Lexington Avenue, to bring the station into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The MTA plan involves placing subway entrances on 69th Street, and Upper East Siders were?not exactly open to the idea. They claim the move will add to noise and crime on the block. A selection of responses: "It's a brownstone street!" and "What can we do to stop this?" The latter was said by someone carrying a Chanel bag, because those UES stereotypes needed reinforcing. [NYP]
