We're still waiting for the full datadump of the third quarter market reports, but in the meantime, research firm Reis is releasing its numbers today for several major markets, including NYC. A sneak peek: rents rose 3.7 percent in New York in the third quarter. Rents also rose in San Francisco, San Jose, and actually all but one?Las Vegas?of the 82 markets covered in the survey. The average effective apartment rent nationwide is $1,0004/month, which makes us laugh and then curl up in a corner and cry. [WSJ]
