The Nissan NV200, NYC's official next taxi cab, hasn't garnered much public support in the past. It fared poorly in an online poll, losing out to a Turkish offering, and certainly wasn't winning any friends in Detroit, but, in a twist of bureaucratic inevitability all too familiar to New Yorkers, it won the contract anyway. Now taxi riders will have a chance to try out their new ride at the Nissan Taxi of Tomorrow Design Expo NYC, running from noon today through Saturday. Set up in the public plaza next to the Flatiron Building, the Expo includes a mock-up of the interior (above) and an appearance by Cash Cab's Ben Bailey, who will be conducting a charity version of the popular rolling game show.
