Mess of a Mansion

It's a day ending in y, so of course there's fresh legal drama at the National Arts Club. The board of the Gramercy club has turned down a Manhattan Supreme Court deal offered last week that would have ended the legal shenanigans at the building. The deal would have let former president Aldon James and his two compatriots keep one (formerly crowded) apartment each. The board took their discussion seriously: "one member's husband fell and broke his wrist at the time the meeting started but she refused to go to the hospital with him in order to stay until the vote was completed."
