FINANCIAL DISTRICT?After some back-and-forth over the prismatic glass cladding for the 185-foot-tall base of 1 World Trade Center, the situation has been officially resolved. Architects found a solution to the problem of the shattering glass?"glass louvers that are set at different angles on the base"?and the Port Authority board approved that solution today. That approval comes with $37.2 million for engineering, fabricating, and installing the glass facade. Said installation will begin in 2013 and won't interfere with the plan to finish the tower by the end of the same year. [CurbedWire Inbox]
