Superior Shocker Success as Seller Achieves $5.5M Flip

New, 9 comments

It took eight months, but chalk up the attempted flip of unit #11AB at Superior Ink as a success: City Room reports that its $17.5 million sale was the biggest in New York this week. UPDATE: It was actually $15.5 million, discounted $2 million from the ask. Oh, and the buyer purchased the 11th-floor unit as pied-à-terre. You know, just a cozy, 3,661-square-foot weekend getaway. The brokers report that at a price per-square-foot of $4,234, it's one of the priciest non-penthouse purchases of 2011. Not too shabby for the seller, who bought the upscale-generic Robert A.M. Stern-designed spread in January 2010 for $9.75 million. (Now we really want to know what hedge fund he works for.)
