Park51 developer Sharif El-Gamal owes Con Edison $1.7 million in back rent, but Con Ed doesn't think El-Gamal can come up with the money, and the utility company has given up on waiting. It has asked a judge to evict the developer from the space (there's currently a restraining order in place to stop the eviction). El-Gamal's lawyer says he has the funds but doesn't agree with the rent Con Ed is charging. [NYP]
