In this special joint edition of Tuesday Townhouse and PriceSpotter, Curbed's asking price guessing game, we present you with our townhouse pick o' the week. We provide you with some details and pictures from the listing, and you take a crack at the price in the comments. Tomorrow we reveal the answer. And hey, no cheating!
What/Where: 2BR, 2BA townhouse on Degraw Street between 4th and 5th Avenues
Square Feet: 1,260
Taxes: $274 ($3,288 annual)
The Skinny: The three-story townhouse with a small footprint underwent a recent renovation, which the brokerbabble says is "not overly ornate or demanding, it is pleasant." Meaning not a shithole, but a fairly blank slate upon which to impose the new owner's decorating taste. The two upper floors are currently configured as humongous "open loftlike rooms," and both have full baths. The 18'x25' basement is unfinished and there's an enclosed patio off the garden level. (No backyard as far as we can ascertain.) The location is closer to noisy, fume-choked 4th Avenue than idyllic Fifth, so not ideal for owners whose children like to play in traffic. How much?
