The Low Line?the proposed conversion of an unused Delancey Street terminal into an underground park?finally gets the Times treatment today. There's not much new news, but the friends of the Low Line did divulge a few details on next steps for the park. The transportation authority is interested in the project as a money-maker, so a free park might not get the go-ahead, but if it does, the authority would issue a request for proposals. The Low Line could be financed by donations, grants, public funds, and revenue from shops within the space. Still in the works: a technique for collecting sunlight and sending it underground.
