The 16 floors of residential units atop the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in the Time Warner Center are some of the most coveted modern apartments in the city. The views, space, and finishes set the tower apart from many of its Upper West Side rivals. That said, even the floor-to-ceiling glass can't right the wrongs in this furnished rental. For one, the three bedroom is offered at a far-from-affordable $49,500 per month. Second, the furnishings that come with the place look like they collectively cost less than a month's rent. Sure, the marble kitchen and baths remain, but the great room has been subjected to a disgraceful lack of a designer's eye. No wonder the photos are tiny.
