NEW YORK CITY?Anyone concerned about the shortage of non-$14,4000 parking spaces in our fair city might be calmed by today's news out of the City Council. The Council has passed a "home rule message" allowing neighborhoods to issue residential parking permits if they so choose. In a neighborhood with permits, at least 20 percent of spots would need to remain open for non-permit parking.
