Back in October, R&B vocalist John Legend listed his one-bedroom apartment at the East Village tower we've dubbed Scarano-on-the-Bowery for $2.95M. Now his downstairs neighbor has put a nearly identical unit up for sale at a price that is sure to infuriate Mr. Legend: $2.9M. Sure the extra $50K buys a Winka Dubbeldam-designed interior, but the cheaper model retains the original two-bedroom layout. Will the celebrity fairy dust be enough to pull down a buyer for Legend's pad or will the newcomer achieve success with its more conventional look?
