Pipe Dreams

Oppenheim's proposed design for a new hotel next to Williamsburgh Savings Bank may be nothing more than a 440-foot-tall pipe dream. (We know: surprise, surprise.) After the Miami-based architecture firm released renderings last week, owner Juan Figueroa says he doesn't have the money to develop the project, and though he'd like to build a hotel at some point, it's "unlikely" the Oppenheim design will be used. In fact, he did it on spec and according to Figueroa, "He’s crazy to put it out there like that.” [Brooklyn Paper]
