Development Update-o-Rama

Now that Hunter College's new school of social work is open in East Harlem, the Brodsky Organization is free to begin construction of its condo at 129 East 79th Street, the school's former site. And the developer will do so in January, having just gotten a $120 million construction loan. Many congrats! The 19-story building will contain 30 condos, be done sometime in the second half of 2013, and be priced around $3,000/square foot. What Brodsky's banking on: large apartments for parents of the neighborhood's private school kids. Just don't expect to fit in with the Gossip Girl set if you're not Park or Fifth, kids. [Crain's]
