Hold those horses, speculators: while the Watchtower is busy selling off eight of its Brooklyn Heights properties, its most showstopping building is staying securely in the organization's clutches. The 12-story Bossert Hotel was built in 1909 by a lumber magnate and soon gained accolades as the Waldorf-Astoria of Brooklyn. Now, its "five glittering chandeliers" and "three-story marblelike columns" play host to traveling Jehovah's Witnesses, who can stay there for free. Hey, at least it's not a dorm. [New York Times]
