Mann Settles for Broadway Penthouse With Apthorp Views

New, 1 comment

Spurned by his partners at The Apthorp in an attempt to get a discounted apartment back in April, developer Maurice Mann closed this week on Penthouse 3A of The Laureate, located just down Broadway at 76th Street.

The sale totaled just under $7.4 million for the 3BR/3.5BA condo covering 2,532 square feet that includes an "oversized Great room with extra large windows and a set of French doors that open to a Juliet balcony at the prow of the building", according to its listing's brokerbabble.

Mann sued his former partners, Apthorp Associates and Broadwall Management, earlier this year, alleging that they reneged on promises to sell him a discounted apartment in the building he once managed. Once installed in his new penthouse unit at The Laureate, Mann can gaze up Broadway from his Juliet balcony and behold The Apthorp, setting for a tragedy about a real estate love lost.

Sales business has been brisk at The Laureate, and only seven(!) more PH units remain--from $12.7 million for 6BR #PH4C to $8.0 million for 3BR #PH2C.
