Comment of the Day

"That takes me back! I grew up in the house at 161 E. 78th St. Ours was an 18 footer, brick, built as servants' quarters in the 1870's for a mansion on 79th St. When we first moved to that block in 1963, people were pretty friendly and we knew all our neighbors and visited inside each other's homes. Those two houses are skinny for sure, but quite liveable. It's a shame that they have to be combined to satisfy today's buyers. Another bit of history lost. Back in the day, the block was not that fancy. And we liked it that way! Our house was bought for $115K."?Trilbynyc [Twin Townhouses]
