Courtney Love Faces Eviction Over Townhouse Decor

New, 14 comments

Last we heard from Courtney Love, a curtain in her $28,000/month townhouse rental at 250 West 10th Street had caught fire in the middle of the night. That fire is one reason why Love's landlord, Donna Lyon, is now trying to evict her. The other reasons: Love has re-wallpapered and repainted a number of the walls, in violation of lease terms meant to protect the work done by interior designer Steven Gambrel, who previously owned the house. She's also $54,000 behind on her rent. Lyon tells the Post, "I came to New York to see it and I was horrified by what she had done. The walls that had been hand-painted and glazed were ruined, covered in damask wallpaper and ice-blue paint." Lyon says restoration could cost up to $100,000; the case has a court date next week.
