Under $1M Living Next Door to One of NYC's Storied Buildings

New, 7 comments

The imposing limestone pre-war at 740 Park, built in 1929 and designed by the legendary Rosario Candela, is one of most sought after buildings in all of New York. The middling post-war brick tower next door at 750 Park Avenue is, well, not. That truth is reflected in the asking prices of apartments, meaning buyers can scoop up this one-bedroom flat at 750 for under $1M, $995K to be exact. Distinguished by broad swaths of glass in both the living and bedrooms and diminished by depressingly low ceilings, the apartment does have that rare benefit of a balcony directly overlooking Park Avenue. That's not a bad deal considering the cheapest apartment on the market next door is a $23M four-bedroom duplex. So much for location, location, location.
