High Line Copycat Chronicles

New, 4 comments

Progress for the latest High Line copycat, the abandoned Rockaway Beach Branch of the Long Island Rail Road: the project has a name! It shall be called the QueensWay, and the Trust for Public Land is working on getting private funding for a feasibility study. The potential QueensWay occupies 3.5 miles between Rego Park and Ozone Park, where the rail line has been out of service for almost 50 years. We hope the Friends of the QueensWay will also consider the site's edible re-creation potential. [NYDN]
