Numbers, letters, neighborhood, geography, history, architecture, personal names, unadulterated brokerbabble and more go into the selection of a new building's name. Some buildings sell themselves, but it never hurts to affix a name to a building's facade or awning. Whether a new building's name, like Citizen, becomes a familiar part of New York's place-name skyline, like the El Dorado, is a matter only time can tell. [NYT]
