High Line-Neighboring Site Getting Cary Tamarkin Condo?

The unassuming two-story warehouse at right traded hands earlier this month for $16 million, The Real Deal reports. That number is enough to make us sit up and take notice, but what really intrigues us is what might come to the spot?the High Line-neighboring 508 West 24th Street?next. Developer/architect Cary Tamarkin (known for, among other things, his work with Anderson Cooper) filed plans in October for a 10-story residential building on the site. Tamarkin's plan was, ruh-roh, disapproved for zoning reasons: the spot is zoned for a 44,584-square-foot building, maximum, and Tamarkin wants to build 56,700 square feet. If it would mean another curvy "mezzanine building," we'd approve that zoning variance.
